Tigers are being saved in Thailand

Dr. Hibbard visited a tiger rescue center on a recent personal vacation, called Tiger Temple, in Kanchanaburi, Thailand and learned how the Buddhist monks began work in 1999 to save and care for tigers. Currently there are 49 tigers being healed and cared for. They can not be released into the forests because they would be quickly killed by poachers. The tigers experience a lot of freedom every day including a romp and swim in a very large natural area. The tigers eat about fifteen pounds of cooked chicken supplemented with vitamins and mineral each morning and then nap in the heat of the day. During this lazy time, the monks and volunteers help visitors have "up close and personal" contact with many of the tigers. Dr. Hibbard enjoyed the company of about twenty tigers during his visit. Visit the Tiger Temple website for more information at www.TigerTemple.org. Dr. Hibbard is happy to talk with anyone about the work being done to save tigers.
