GIFTED AND TALENTED SERVICES

Program Philosophy

The gifted program is based on the Schoolwide Enrichment Model developed by Joseph Renzulli, PhD. The model systematically assesses strengths, provides enrichment opportunities and services, and utilizes a flexible approach to identification for the varied programs and services offered. Identification is based on the belief that gifted behavior consists of three attributes:

  • above average ability
  • high levels of task commitment
  • elevated levels of creativity

Students who manifest these traits require a variety of educational opportunities and services.
