Dear PQ Families:

2nd Annual Reading Contest for All North Salem Students, Faculty and Staff: Read a Book and Help Raise Money for Charity!

Parents - please help by encouraging your children to read! For updates on how we're doing, please visit the Library Media Center link here.

Student Placement Process: It is that time of year when we begin to consider student placement for the next year. Please see the attached letter regarding the placement process and how parents can support this process.

Dismissal Notes: Safety is of utmost importance particularly at the end of the day when we are dismissing students. Please make after-school arrangements with your child before he/she leaves for school. It is very difficult to accommodate the many phone calls we receive on a daily basis to change transportation arrangements and mistakes can happen. It also interrupts classroom instruction to get messages to children. Please make all transportation arrangements for your child in advance of his/her arrival at school. Be sure to send in a note WITH your child detailing those arrangements. Children may NOT switch buses for play dates. Please make other arrangements for after school transportation for play dates. Please DO NOT EMAIL teachers regarding changes to transportation during the day. They may not see it during the day.

Toys and Electronics: We are noticing more and more small toys and electronics coming to school. Please keep toys/stuffed animals/games at home. Electronics can only be used for educational purposes and cannot be used at school without teacher permission. We appreciate your cooperation as we still have much to cover academically before the end of the year.

Mission Monday: See the center of the North Salem Website home page for our weekly stories about our Mission to engage students to continually learn, question, define and solve problems through critical and creative thinking.
