Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Rhonda Dier
My name is Rhonda Dier and I have been providing physical therapy and consultation services to the students of the NSCSD. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. I graduated with a BS in Physical Therapy at New York University in October, 1988; and graduated with a Master’s in Science in Education from Queens College. I have specialized in pediatrics for the past 30 years. My training in pediatrics began at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in NYC. After moving to South Salem, NY in 1992, I have worked for Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES for 7 years, providing physical therapy to students in local school buildings and on the BOCES campus. From 1999 to 2005, I became the senior physical therapist at St. Mary's Rehabilitation Center for Children in Ossining, NY and was part of organizing the exercise/fitness segment of the weight management program; and began the therapeutic horseback riding program after bringing awareness of the therapeutic values that horses can offer to special needs children. In 2006, I returned to PNW BOCES, and through BOCES I have been providing physical therapy services to the North Salem students for approximately the past 7-8 years. Throughout my physical therapy career, I have provided home-based Early Intervention services working together with the child and family. I have since moved to Pennsylvania (… yes I commute!). I have my German shepherd who was released from the Guiding Eyes for the Blind and a horse that I brought back from Canada, who both give me motivation and reasons to be outdoors in all weather conditions.
