Competing against some of the most talented junior and senior science students from around the region, North Salem High School’s Isabella Piacentino impressed at the Tri-County Science & Technology Fair, recently held at White Plains High School.
Piacentino earned a first place finish in the Engineering and Technology category and received a plaque and $100 reward for her presentation on research about robotic vs. human arms.
She additionally was presented with a special medal placing within the top nine high school student presenters at the fair, which included students from Westchester, Putnam and Rockland counties.
Piacentino was also named an alternate for the New York State Science Congress, which will take place in Syracuse on June 8.
“Both Isabella and I want to thank all of the staff who volunteered to be a part of [her] project,” said science teacher Paul Rubeo. “She could not have achieved this success without your help.”
