Sixth and seventh grade chorus members ended the year with a cross-disciplinary Music History project. Students chose a current song that they like and then conducted research to discover which artists influenced the recording artist of the song that they chose. They kept researching backward to build a working historical knowledge of the history of popular music. The singers then created a visual representation of their acquired knowledge using a tree as the symbol of 'going back to the roots' of their popular music. This project incorporated critical, creative and communication, and collaboartion skills which are embedded in our Profile of a North Salem Graduate.
