One North Salem High School science class wrapped up their pathology unit with a serious investigation into the death -- of a pickle!
Before spring recess, Mariya Perreault’s forensic science students practiced their anatomical vocabulary by turning a pickle into a miniature person. Marshmallows and raisins became facial features and limbs.
Through photographic comparisons of the pickles, students reviewed their successes and challenges in anatomical terms. Each group then performed an autopsy on their pickle person to determine the cause, manner, and mechanism of the fictitious deaths.
