Weekly Thoughts
We hope you are all enjoying your summer vacations. We so appreciate all of you who completed the district survey regarding distance learning, special education and health and safety. The district task forces are working hard to create plans for the safe return of students based on the guidelines we are receiving this week from NYS. We will be sharing survey results and plans in the very near future. Please know we are hard at work trying to address the knowns and unknowns regarding school reopening. Feel free to reach out to one of us if you have any questions.
Kindly,
Mrs. Johnson and Dr. Bell
Important Announcement Regarding the Mobile Food Pantry
Tomorrow, July 15th, is the last day we will be hosting Feeding Westchester’s Mobile Food Pantry at the North Salem Middle School/High School. After this week, the Office of Emergency Management of North Salem will be hosting food distributions each week on Tuesdays from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at the North Salem Ambulance Corps at 14 Daniel Road, North Salem, NY. For more information, or if you are in need of delivery, please contact them at 914-669-5464.
Summer Learning Resources
Summer is a great time for rest and relaxation. We also know that it is important (especially this summer) to maintain the skills your children have learned. Daily reading should continue throughout the summer as well as some writing in the form of journal writing, postcards to family, stories and information writing. Other skills can be practiced using many of the electronic resources used this spring during distance learning like IXL, RazKids, etc. Please see the link on the PQ website for grade level specific suggestions to beat the summer slide!
