Seventh-Graders Pitch Page-Turners to Peers

teacher at projection boardAfter reading an independently selected book, Maureen Mullaney's seventh-grade students created illustrated "One-Pagers." These outlines describe the story's setting, conflict, theme, and protagonist development. Standing before their class, students explained their creative and informative One-Pagers, shared personal connections to the stories, and provided recommendations for what type of readers might enjoy the novel and why. The presentations were so engaging and compelling that some students borrowed the recommended book from their classmates to read over the February break.
