For the first time, we are excited to be opening the opportunity for 8th graders to apply to start their participation in their freshman year.
About PJLC:
PJLC is a youth leadership group that builds young people's connections to their community and engages them on issues that matter to them. PJLC members are committed to improving the health, safety, and well-being of young adults in northern Westchester County, serving as liaisons between the hospital and their schools. PJLC members have the opportunity to:
o Serve as ambassadors of wellness, supporting NWH to identify key health issues affecting young people and inspire their peers to lead healthy balanced lifestyles through campaigns and programs. This year, the students are promoting a campaign to address “Technological Wellbeing” – encouraging their peers to live a balanced digital life, in and outside the screen.
o Interact with hospital personnel and explore career opportunities in health and medicine.
o Participate in Community Health and Education events and gain community service hours.
If you know students who would be interested in joining the PJLC, please encourage them to submit an application. 8th grade students who apply during this enrollment period will start participation in September 2020 – upon the start of their freshman year of high school.
